Dear supporter
When was your last walk in a park? It’s a magical time to visit our parks; whether it’s a trip to Wilsons Prom to see the amazing regeneration of the eucalypts after the fires or thrashing amongst the leaves at your ‘local’. Make sure you put some Park Life on your list of things to do this month - and next!
There have been many exciting developments in our programs this first half of the year including a huge amount of work from volunteers at Caitlin's Retreat and a great kick off of our Community Park project from JNF with a $40,000 donation following up their efforts for 2006 post bushfire recovery!
Thank you all who have contributed to our work so far this year!

Mid Year Appeal - Caitlin's Retreat
With the end of financial year upon us, it’s a perfect time of year to make a tax deductible donation to our mid year appeal for Caitlin's Retreat.
We have special needs families waiting for vital respite intervention at Caitlin's Retreat and we are asking for your donation so we can help these families.

 JNF
A call from David Beder at JNF always comes with a sense of urgency. As one of the first calls People & Parks received following the Black Saturday fires, David was wanting to know how JNF could help us assist to rebuild and revegetate these areas in order to create a sense of place for those who were dislocated on that day and in the weeks to follow; a long term view of the ongoing challenges for these communities.

 Interchange Partnership
We are very pleased to announce that Interchange Victoria has agreed to partner us at Caitlin's Retreat to refer their clients for visits. Jetha Devapura and his Area Managers have made a significant contribution already by consulting with us about the needs of visitors and how we can make their stay at Caitlin's Retreat a true ‘ecotherapy’ experience benefiting special needs visitors as well as their siblings and carers.
Interchange provides respite and social opportunities for children and young people with a disability and their families.

Our partners at Variety, the Children’s Charity will provide funding for an all abilities playground for visitors to Caitlin's Retreat! Due to be built later in the year, this significant gift will be a terrific asset for the facility and will incorporate state of the art play equipment for all children!

 Our thanks to DDB
When People & Parks Trustee Sally Capp tapped on the shoulders of John Ziegler; President and CEO of DDB in the Asia Pacific region and Nick Condon; Managing Director DDB Australia to ask for some ideas to assist us to promote our great work and expand – did DDB respond? They haven’t stopped helping and have combined the collective brains of the agency and Sarah Bailey to develop some concepts with endless opportunities.

 Woodend Children's Park
Since construction began in March, many local businesses have come forward to offer trades and services to help build Woodend Children's Park. The Construction Committee is calling for expressions of interest from local trades, services and materials providers interested in helping to build the park. The database will be used to contact relevant providers at each stage of construction.
