Dear Supporter
We're coming to the end of a marvelous wet winter, and I do hope you havent let the cold weather stop you from getting out into nature and exploring our amazing parklands.
It's a great time of year to get physical in the outdoors, whether it be through gardening, bird watching or bushwalking. There is nothing better than the feeling of a puff in your chest and some rosy cheeks as you walk along a bush trail, discovering new and wonderful sites.
Our Corporate Responsiblity and Sea Search programs have kicked into high gear, and we are receiving many enquiries each day from people wishing to get involved by volunteering for one of our many park projects.
Volunteering is a great way to learn more about our environment and the important role we can play in preserving and protecting it. Contact us if you want to get involved!
See you in the park!

Acting Chief Executive

Nillumbik Mayor, Councillor Ken King, arrived early and was keen to share stories of his recent experiences in nature and give thanks to our enthusiastic group of youths, who through this National Green Jobs Corps program are helping to preserve and rehabilitate this environmentally significant property and adjoining parklands.

 Sea Search receives further funding.
Sea Search recently received a government Community Action Grant to run workshops and Sea Search activities at Bunurong Marine National Park and Merri Marine Sanctuary. This is great news for the Sea Search program and it's volunteers, as it means we can run important species identification workshops which will not only attract new Sea Search volunteers and but will also build on and enhance the skills of our exisiting volunteers.
Information regarding these workshops and activities will be circulated and put on the People & Parks website once scheduled. Stay tuned!
