Dear supporter
The People and Parks Foundation would like to extend our heartfelt condolences and thoughts to the people and communities who lost loved ones and who were closely affected by the fires as well as those who remain at threat.
Many of our friends working in the Parks have been intimately affected and had their lives forever changed. Thank you to those who have offered their assistance to these communities through us, whether as volunteers or through donations, to assist with rebuilding efforts when the time comes.
Kind Regards,
People and Parks
 KEEN further their 'Green Connections'
People and Parks Foundation are delighted to welcome KEEN Footwear as our inaugural partner to the Green Connections program! KEEN became involved with People and Parks last year when their ‘KEEN to Finish for Charity’ team raised over $10,000 in the KEEN Outdoor Adventure race to support young people with chronic illness to participate in our WILD program and have also supported our Sea Search photographic competition.
The synergies between our organisations are immediately apparent; eco friendly products and the hybrid life philosophy that pervades all activities that both organisations undertake.

 Community Rebuilding through Green Connections
Over the last couple of weeks, since the devastating bushfires in Victoria (many of which continue to burn at press) we have been contacted by various individuals and groups wishing to donate funds or volunteer time towards projects in fire ravaged areas. We are grateful for the contact they have made with us, and will be working together with these groups to establish community rebuilding projects, which will bring strength, hope and new life to these affected communities.
If you or your workplace wish to donate or volunteer time to our Green Connections program, please contact us on 03 8627 4890 or email info@peopleandparks.org
Green Connections creates opportunities for volunteers to conserve and rehabilitate our precious parklands whilst strengthening communities and making a real difference by involving businesses, community groups and schools in environmental projects throughout Australia.
 Woodend Children's Park
Wednesday 4th of March will see the first dig of earth take place at the Woodend Children’s Park site; a project of our Green Connections program. With 95% of the needed funds raised, the construction phase is about to commence, taking the project from dream to reality.
People and Parks have been delighted by the number of donations from the local and wider community in support of this outstanding community project initiative and look forward to presenting the Woodend Children’s Park Committee with an initial cheque of $177,000 to commence works on site.

Sea Seach
Within the intertidal rocky shores or the lush seagrass beds, lies a myriad of ecosystems that are often unnoticed by beach goers. It is not until you get up close to these very special environments that you realise the mass of life that lies beneath the surface.
Sea Search is a People and Parks program that allows you to explore and learn about the diversity of marine plants and animals found in Victoria’s Marine Protected Areas.
So far this year we have held 14 monitoring sessions and there are many more to come.
