Dear Supporter
With the end of the financial year behind us, we are proud to announce that both in terms of volunteer support, program activity and raising funds, this last year has been by far our most successful to date. The Team has set lofty goals for the year ahead and we look forward to sharing our successes with you and gathering more friends along the way.
Next time you are in a park, why don’t you email or twitter us to let us know what you experienced there; inspiring stories help us all to remember to get into the park for its therapeutic benefits as well as the importance of taking a break every now and then.

Caitlin's Retreat put to the test
Our big news this month is that we have had two families on trial visits to provide us with invaluable feedback. Getting this feedback is all important to ensure we are achieving our aims of providing an experience in nature, using its therapeutic benefits to assist families with special needs as well as just being a great place for some time out.
Our next phase is to get our farm operational with our vegie garden and orchard needing some work and planting out, as well as increasing the number of animals on the farm for visitors to interact with.

 Freckled Duck enclosure
Through a generous $5,000 donation from the Shell Geelong Refinery Community Grants Program, People & Parks Foundation is pleased to partner with Parks Victoria to announce the completion of the Freckled Duck Enclosure at Serendip Sanctuary. The Freckled Duck is one of Australia's rarest waterfowl species. The captive birds will allow us to interpret the importance of species diversity, threatened species recovery programs and the value of conserving wetland habitats.

Reef Life Survey News
Our last group dive at South Road Reef Bommies (Brighton) found few fish but urchins in abundance as Paige, Amelia and Tim braved the cold waters to record the winter marine life.
Thank you to all that came to the Reef Life Survey information session held at the Clyde Hotel on Sunday the 28th June to learn about the program and see Rick show us a taste of the amazing marine life Reef Life Surveyors get to interact with.
